See ghost towns and mines that are impossible to get to by car!

Exploring ghost towns and mines from the ground is exciting but time consuming. Our tour takes you past a dozen mines and/or ghost towns from Wickenburg to Congress and beyond.

Take off from Wickenburg Municipal Airport and head south over the Big Spar Mine toward Vulture Peak, Wickenburg’s landmark mountain. Fly between Vulture Peak and the Caballeros Peaks and continue southwest where you’ll circle Vulture Mine and the Vulture City ghost town. Then head east over Mammoth Mine, the Hassayampa River, Dragon Mine, and a handful of mines in the Wickenburg Mountains. Then north over the Monte Cristo Mine, remains of Constellation, and the seldom-visited Gold Bar Mine.

Next, head northwest across the desert and the Hassayampa River to the ghost towns of Octave and Stanton. Skirt the edge of the Weaver Mountains, flying alongside the hills, then cut over to the Senate Mine in Congress. From there, it’s a straight shot south to Wickenburg and the airport.
