On Call Videographer
Flying M Air is the proud owner of a Moitek Video Mount system for its Robinson R44 helicopter. We’re interested in building a catalog of stock aerial video throughout Arizona, as well as providing video footage of events to local and national news outlets and clients.
We’re looking for one or two reliable and skilled video shooters who can work with us to acquire video footage. Candidates must:
- Live in the Phoenix area.
- Be willing to travel, usually in-state. (All expenses for lodging and meals would be covered.)
- Be available on short notice for video shoots. (We’d like to have at least two shooters to call in case one is not available.)
- Have good communication skills, ability to work with pilot to get the shot.
- Have or be able to rent compatible video equipment. (Flying M Air will not cover the cost of equipment rentals.)
- Be reliable and professional.
Aerial photography or videography experience — especially experience with gyro stablized systems like our Moitek — is a plus.
Pay varies depending on assignment. Stock footage and footage shot without a specific assignment will likely be handled on a co-ownership basis with split profits. Footage shot for a specific client will generate more definite pay for work done; contract with client will provide for videographer compensation as part of the deal. What we’re offering, in effect, is a partnership to acquire and sell aerial video footage.
This is not a salaried position. The people who work with us as shooters will not be employees of Flying M Air. There could be only a few hours of work each month — or none at all. This is not the kind of job you leave other employment for.
Flying M Air is often contacted by potential clients needing video footage. The video shooters we work with regularly will be recommended to these clients.
