Grand Canyon Day Trip
Visit the Grand Canyon in style!
It’s a three to four hour drive from the Phoenix area by car but about an hour and a half by helicopter.
The Flight to the Grand Canyon
- From Wickenburg or Prescott, our 1 to 1-1/4 hour direct flight takes us over a wide variety of desert terrain with lots to see along the way.
- From the Phoenix area, we take a scenic route over Lake Pleasant and past the historic ghost town of Jerome. The flight takes approximately 1-1/2 to 2 hours, depending on the departure point.
At the Grand Canyon
At the Grand Canyon, we land at the airport and provide ground transportation and park entrance fees into the park where you’ll have up to 5 hours to walk along the rim, tour the historic buildings in Grand Canyon Village, visit shops, have lunch, take a short hike into the canyon, or ride the free park shuttle buses to other viewpoints or the Visitor’s Center. When you’re ready to leave, we provide transportation back to the airport.
The Return Flight
- Our flight back to Prescott is a direct flight that includes a quick tour of downtown Prescott before landing at the airport.The return flight is slightly longer for a total helicopter flight time of about 2 hours.
- Our flight back to Wickenburg overflies downtown Prescott, AZ and follows the Hassayampa River into the Town of Wickenburg. The return flight is slightly longer for a total helicopter flight time of 2-1/2 to 3 hours.
- Our flight back to the Phoenix area takes a different route that includes a Sedona red rocks tour. Flights originating in Scottsdale or Mesa may include a Verde River overflight, depending on time of day and weather conditions. The return flight is approximately the same length for a total helicopter flight time of 3 to 4 hours.

From Wickenburg or Prescott: $695
From Phoenix (Deer Valley), or Scottsdale: $895
From Glendale, Phoenix (Sky Harbor), Avondale (Goodyear), Mesa (Falcon Field), or Chandler: $995
There is a minimum of two passengers per flight. Third passenger flies for half price when you request a reservation online or mention our Web site when reserving by phone. Please book your flight at least 24 hours before the desired flight date and time.
Limitations for this flight:
We can accommodate up to three passengers per flight. There is a per-seat weight limit of 250 lbs. for all of our flights. There is a total passenger weight limit of 600 pounds for this flight. Please be prepared to provide passenger weights when reserving any flight.
Price Includes: Flight as described above for up to 3 people, airport landing fees, ground transportation into the park and back, park entry fee. Price does not include overflight of canyon, which is highly regulated and restricted to Canyon tour operators.
Add a Grand Canyon Overflight
Add a scenic flight over the canyon with Maverick Helicopters, one of the Grand Canyon’s three authorized helicopter tour companies.
- Canyon Dancer Tour - 25 minutes - Add $175 per person
- Canyon Spirit Tour - 50 minutes - Add $235 per person
Deposit/Cancelation Policy:
A deposit of $250 is required to reserve this tour. Cancellations must be made at least 4 hours prior to flight time for full refund. Flying M Air reserves the right to cancel the flight (with a full refund) in the event of inclement weather or unscheduled aircraft maintenance issues.
Maverick helicopters has a 24-hour cancellation policy. If your reservation with us includes a canyon overflight with Maverick, a deposit equal to the total amount of Maverick fares will be collected at the time of your reservation. Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before scheduled flight time or all deposits will be forfeited.
