Flying M Air is repositioning its helicopter from Wickenburg, AZ to Seattle, AZ in May 2010. To help cover the cost of the move, we’re making the following offer.

Flying M Air will fly one or two passengers with limited luggage from Phoenix Sky Harbor to Seattle’s Boeing Field on any dates between May 10 and 20, 2010. The passengers can choose the flight path (subject to fine-tuning by the pilot for various FAA and safety reasons) and take up to four days to complete travel. The flight normally takes approximately 10 hours and can be completed comfortably in two days. You pick the route and make your dream helicopter excursion a reality.

Normally a custom charter flight like this would cost $495 per hour of flight time plus $250 per night for pilot lodging and be completed in just two days. For this trip only, we are offering this flight for $350 per flight hour plus $150 per night for pilot lodging. This price is for up to two passengers. This rate — which is below our operating cost — is applied to helicopter flight time per the on-board “Hobbs Meter,” which measures helicopter running time in 1/10 hour increments. It does not cover the cost of ground transportation, hotels, meals, or any other extras. Passengers are expected to begin the flight at Wickenburg or Phoenix, AZ and complete the flight at Boeing FIeld in Seattle, WA.

A $1,000 deposit for this Be Spontaneous! flight must be made at the time the flight is booked. There is a $500 cancellation fee if the flight is not cancelled within 15 days of the flight departure date. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a single traveler to enjoy the adventure of helicopter travel without spending a lot of money. Flying M Air is conducting this trip with a second helicopter so passenger will be one of a party of five travellers. Weather permitting, the trip will include extended flight time over Lake Powell and in the Goosenecks area of the San Juan River. The trip may also include lunch stops at Marble Canyon, Bullfrog Basin, and Winslow.
